Built for the Mountain.

MTN HNTR was born in the high country with one goal: Our gear should earn it's place in your pack.

I grew up in Star Valley, Wyoming, and I've spent my life hunting, glassing and living in the backcountry. After years of running a gear shop and testing everything on the shelf, I got tired of the same tradeoff. Going light always meant giving up stability, comfort or dependability. I figured there had to be a better way.

Where it started

It started with a fluid head. Everything out there was too heavy to haul up the mountain, so we brought the Nano Pro to market at 9.5 ounces. We've kept refining it, and today it's down to 8.2. Then we had a cart without a horse, a light head and no tripod worth putting it on, so we went after the ultimate backcountry tripod kit: the MTN SS. After 18 months of prototyping and creating, the MTN SS was built. It's been our best selling tripod ever since.

That led to more: the standing-height Swift TS, and glassing and shooting gear built for mountain hunters. Every piece has to earn its place in your pack.

How we do it

Simple, strong gear that's rock solid and light enough to carry all day. It's tested on real hunts, on horseback and in weather that chews up weak gear. We keep refining every run, so the gear keeps getting better. The mountain stays the same.

Where we're headed

We're just getting started. We're keeping MTN HNTR small on purpose, with limited runs, no hype and no shortcuts. Our gear is designed in Wyoming, and it's built to earn its keep in real country with real hunters.

You can't cheat the mountain. We're not cutting corners. We're cutting ounces.
