Nano Pro Fluid Tripod Head

Nano Pro Fluid Head – Designed for Backcountry Hunters

The Nano Pro fluid head is redefining the hunting experience for those who demand top-tier performance with minimal weight. Weighing only 9 ounces, this aluminum fluid head is one of the lightest in its class, making it an ideal choice for long backcountry hunts, filming, video, and extended glassing sessions. Despite its ultralight design, this lightweight fluid head for a tripod expertly supports even large spotting scopes, binoculars, and other optics.

Unlike ball and tripod pan heads, fluid heads use a hydraulic system that ensures smooth, effortless panning and tilting—perfect for steady glassing. While most lightweight fluid heads weigh over a pound, the Nano Pro delivers that same smooth performance at a fraction of the weight. It even outperforms other heads of similar weight that rely on pan or ball head designs.

At MTN HNTR, we focus on feature sets that matter, optimizing weight without compromising performance. The Nano Pro embodies this approach, becoming a trusted companion for hundreds of hunters in the field.

User-Friendly, Purpose-Built Design

Featuring a two-axis tightening system, the Nano has a horizontal panning knob conveniently placed on the left side and the tilt control (vertical) on the facing side. Its adjustable handle, easily positioned with a knurled knob on the right, keeps controls accessible whether you’re glassing, filming, or shooting.

For the perfect pairing, match a lightweight tripod and the fluid head in one of our kits. Designed to work hand in hand, the Nano Pro fits perfectly on our Carbon Fiber MTN SS, or Swift TS tripod, or another preferred tripod. It includes a 3/8" thread and a 1/4"-20 adapter, making it compatible with nearly any tripod on the market.

I’m running a Sony A7Siii with a Tamron 35-150mm lens, which comes in just under 5lbs. The left to right pan is very catchy and not very smooth all. If you’re getting this for spotting scopes or binos, it will be a great head for that. As far as filming goes, a lighter camera may alleviate the catchiness of the panning, but outside of it being so small and compact (which is truly awesome) it doesn’t lend itself to smooth pans….which is kinda important haha. All in all, if you just want a lightweight head that is compact and easy to pack, and you’re not worried about having the smoothest panning fluid head, this head will work just fine.

It sounds like your head isn't performing quite like you wanted. Shoot me an email - and I'll get you a new one sent out. It should be very smooth and not catch.
